BRONCOS WIN! BRONCOS WIN! BRONCOS WIN!
Both sides of the ball struggles for the Denver Broncos in this game against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, in the fourth quarter both offense and defense came alive. Bo Nix and the offense scored 15-unanswered points to take the lead with less than two minutes to go. Then the defense made one of the most incredible goal line stands to secure the win over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to take the AFC West lead.
Broncos vs. Chiefs final score
First Quarter
The Broncos defense came out to play to start
the game forcing the Chiefs into three-and-outs in two of their three first quarter drives. However, the one drive ended in a touchdown with a Patrick Mahomes pass to Rashee Rice on a slant who beat Alex Singleton pretty badly on the play for the touchdown.
That play call on defense isn’t on Singleton, though. He shouldn’t be put in that situation against the Chiefs most dynamic receiving threat.
The Broncos did answer to that score. After putting up a field goal on their opening drive, they got a big play to Courtland Sutton on the final play in the first quarter to get the team into field goal range again on their third possession of the game.

Second Quarter
Chiefs’ running back Emmet Johnson exploded in the pass game in the second quarter burning the Broncos’ linebackers in coverage to the tune of three receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown. His two big plays accounts for a total of 10 of the Chiefs 17 points in the first half. Vance Joseph had no answer for him early in this game.
Bo Nix and the Broncos offense kept things close with a long drive of their own in the second quarter capping a 12-play, 69 yard drive with this fourth down pass to Jaylen Waddle for their first touchdown of the game.
After giving up so many big plays on defense to Johnson, the Broncos being down by four points at halftime felt like a minor win.

Third Quarter
Denver’s offense came out and stacked three-and-outs to start the second half. It’s been a predictable tendency by them this season and the boo birds came out after the second one as fans realized the momentum was shifting towards the Chiefs.
And it did. The next drive had the Chiefs march down the field to put Kansas City up by two scores as the third quarter came to an end.
The frustration with the offense was mounting in the stadium.

Fourth Quarter
When the Broncos finally got the ball back in the fourth quarter after three straight three-and-outs to start the second half, they got the run game going behind Jonah Coleman and then had big plays to Adam Trautman and Marvin Mims Jr. to setup a first and goal at the five yard line. They’d face a fourth and goal from the two where Bo Nix found a wide open Nate Adkins for the touchdown.
Nix would then find Waddle in the back of the end zone for the two point conversion to close the gap to 3-points with over half the fourth quarter left down 24-21 to the Chiefs.
The defense needed a stop and got one, but not before giving Harrison Butker a 54-yard field goal attempt that he missed to give Denver the ball near midfield with 2:32 left in the game down by three points.
Nix dumped it off to Jonah Coleman on the first play who ran it all the way down to the four yard line to instantly set the Broncos up in scoring position on a 52-yard catch and run.
Coleman would punch it in on the very next play just after the two minute warning to give Denver their first lead since the first quarter to put the Broncos up 28-24.
Of course Emmett Johnson would return the kickoff 45 yards to their own 44-yard line to give Mahomes and the Chiefs offense a short field to work with in their two minute offense. A big play to Travis Kelce set them up inside the red zone where they would punch it their ticket down to the four yard line to run the clock down to less than 15 seconds at the one yard line where they would have a goal line chance to win but the Broncos defense put together an incredible goal line stand to move to 6-2.
Broncos 28, Chiefs 24.
