In Game One of their best of three playoff series, Hickory fell to the RiverDogs, 9-8, in 10 innings. Game Two is scheduled for Thursday.
Seong-Jun Kim allowed one run in an inning of work, stirking out one and walking two. Will Whelan allowed a run in two innings, striking out two and walking one. Louis Marinaro pitched the ninth inning, striking out three but allowing a game-tying solo homer.
Daniel Flames was 2 for 2 with a walk. Paulino Santana had a hit and a walk. Josh Springer was 2 for 5 with a double.
Dewar Tovar was 3 for 5 with a 10th inning triple that drove in a run and put him on third with two outs as the tying run, though he was stranded there when Springer struck out to end the game. Marco Argudin had a hit.

Sebastian Walcott was 3 for 5 with a homer and a stolen base. Dylan Dreiling had a hit. Gleider Figuereo, Malcolm Moore and Rafe Perich each had a hit and a walk.
