We are having such an interesting time in the world of fantasy and football. Who would’ve thought it would be none other than Harry Maguire, once considered a ‘meme’, to clutch it against arch-rivals Liverpool,
and that too at Anfield? As a United fan, it’s a great feeling after a long time.
FPL GW9 Team Preview
Back to FPL: my team hasn’t had the best run midway through the season; it’s been pretty average. Changes are needed, so I might have to use a Wildcard since we’re already down to GW 8.
I did manage to accumulate 56 points this week, thanks to the brilliance of Erling Haaland.
The Spurs backline did well, but I can see some cracks starting to show, especially considering how tough their upcoming fixtures are with Everton, Chelsea, United and Arsenal on the horizon.
So having two Spurs defenders doesn’t seem like the best idea right now; replacements are definitely needed. The likes of Senesi, Guehi, and the Arsenal backline have been performing extremely well.
I’m still quite satisfied with the midfield. Semenyo has been the best midfielder in terms of xG this season, despite struggling this week.
Bruno is always good to have. Rogers is a constant attacking threat, and his price tag justifies having him. However, the form of Reijnders and Johnson is a bit concerning.
The frontline is solid, with Pedro being the main man in Chelsea’s attack. But given Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures, Mateta is starting to look like a tempting option.
His GW 10 to GW 12 includes Brentford, Brighton and Wolves, all of whom have been struggling in their own ways. Haaland continues to be Haaland. It’s turning into one of those seasons where the armband rarely leaves him.
Here is my GW-8 team, as I contemplate my wildcard options, that is, if of course, I activate the chip this gameweek.
