Let’s right to this week’s Olympic Sports round-up:
Field Hockey (11-5, 3-5)
The Orange beat Wake Forest, then lost in penalty strokes to Virginia in the ACC Tournament semi-final. Bo Van Kempen and Jessie Eiselin were selected to the ACC All Tournament Team.
Syracuse earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and they will open with the Liberty Flames on Friday at 2:30 in Princeton, NJ. The winner
will advance to face the winner of Princeton vs Fairfield/Boston U on Sunday.
Liberty is 17-2 on the season and won the Big East Championships with a 2-1 overtime win over UConn. You can stream Friday’s game on ESPN+.
Men’s Soccer (7-6-3, 4-3-1)
After a 3-0 win on the road at NC State, the Orange head to ACC semifinal to face SMU. Can Tomas Hut continue his incredible season and get Syracuse back into the NCAA Tournament?
Syracuse and SMU play Thursday night at 8:00 and the game will be on the ACC Network.
Volleyball (13-11, 5-9)
The Orange are in the midst of a five-match losing streak after dropping contests to Clemson (3-1) and Georgia Tech (3-0). Syracuse is now tied for 10th in the ACC with BC and Wake Forest.
Syracuse remains home to face Wake Forest and NC State this weekend and with NC State below the Orange, it’s a good opportunity to get back on the wining track.
Cross-Country
The Orange compete on Friday at the Northeast Regional race in New Hampshire. The men are ranked 1st in he region while the women are 2nd behind Boston College. The top two teams automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, which are in Missouri later this month
Women’s Ice Hockey (6-7, 4—2)
Syracuse split the weekend series at Lindenwood- winning 2-1 on Friday and losing 4-1 on Saturday. Goalie Ava Drabyk ranks 3rd in the AHA in goals against average (2.43)
The Orange will travel to Penn State this weekend.
