What is the story about?
4 AM, we ran a miracle mile
We’re flat broke
But hey, we do it in style
The bad rich
Dots flying in for your trial
- Our most recent episode of All We Hear is Purple (available now wherever podcasts are sold!), we focused on the duality of the Apple Cup result. The Huskies beat the Cuogs by two TDs and there was not much stress about the end result. The defense looked the best it has looked in about a decade. On the other hand, the offense sputter, the O-Line didn’t block well, the RB room took two more injury hits, and every phase of the game had too many penalties. Christian Caple takes a similar view for On Mountlake, looking at the glass half-full/glass half-empty views of UW through one week.
- Over at the Seattle Times, Percy Allen looks around the Big 10to see how some of UW’s upcoming opponents played in Week 1. Oregon is one example of a team who had some trouble getting out of the games, but it will take time to see if that underperformance is a trend or a blip. USC, however, has looked better than expected through two wins over smaller in-state schools.
- Dawgman has a new recruiting blog ($) with some updates on prospects who visited campus during the Apple Cup. Across the board, the recruits had positive things to say about the atmosphere at the game, which supports the coaching staff’s decision to get them the Husky Stadium for the Apple Cup.
- Husky Volleyball is 5-0 to start the season after good wins over Ole Miss and Oklahoma in the Big 10/SEC Challenge. The Dawgs are back home for two matches this weekend. They will play Lipscomb on Thursday and Washington State on Sunday.
