Svi Mykhailiuk | D+
Will Hardy’s favorite player struggled to hit shots in this one. He also didn’t defend particularly well, as evidenced by his team-worst -17. I don’t normally put too much credence into +/-, but when all of Jazz media points to it when it’s good, you have to also admit when it’s down.
Lauri Markkanen | B
Markkanen was solid efficiency-wise on offense, especially from three (4/7), but he was pretty bad defensively and was targeted most of the night. But he was far from the reason the Jazz lost, and so he deserves credit
for a good game against a very good Wolves team.
Jusuf Nurkic | D-
Nurkic keeps a passing grade for his rebounding and assists but he just can’t jump and score at the rim. Yeah Rudy Gobert was there but he can’t overpower him at all inside? His 2/11 kept a lot of assists from happening for other players. The lack of athleticism becomes very apparent pretty often when player throw the ball up and the alley-oop can’t happen, or he’s too slow to get a quick score up.
Ace Bailey | B+
In Ace Bailey’s first start he showed a lot of what he could do with just pure physical talent. He rebounds the ball really well and also contributes in other ways than scoring. Tonight he had 2 assists and 3 steals. He still has a ton of room to grow as a scorer and a defender which makes him look like a future star if he can put together all the elements of his game. This dunk at the end of the game was ridiculous.
Keyonte George | A-
George continues to have an impressive start to the season. In this George was the beast player on the floor for the Jazz. He scored 27 on good efficiency from the field (9/18), grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists. He also took 6 free throws and knocked them all down. Once George gets more efficient with that three-point shot he’s going to be a very lethal player.
Isaiah Collier | B
Collier had a much better game in this one than his debute the game before. His speed was on display as he took advantage of a tired Wolves team multiple times. He also dishe dout 7 assists, showing his impressive passing ability once again.
Kevin Love | B
Love has been a nice option at third center with his ability to pass and shoot the ball. Love was 3/6 from the field and 2/5 from three. He’s not a good defender and he’s well into the twilight of his career but he contributes in a nice way for the Jazz off the bench.
Brice Sensabaugh | B
Sensabaugh was finally able to hit some shots after falling into a really bad slump recently. It was nice to see him be productive in his minutes even if it was just 11 of them.
Kyle Filipowski | B+
Filipowski was good in this one again and was forced to play extended minutes because of the innefectiveness of Nurkic. Flip would have gotten a better grad had he shot the ball better, but he contributed in a lot of ways to help make this game interesting.
Walter Clayton Jr. | B+
Like Filipowski, Clayton would have gotte a better grade had he shot the ball better from the field (he was just 2/8), but he contributed in a lot of ways on the floor and shows real composure at the point guard position.
