We still don’t have official jersey numbers for the San Francisco 49ers’ new additions this offseason. There’s a handful of names, like Mike Evans, Christian Kirk, Osa Odighizuwa, Robert Jones, and Brett Toth, all without numbers.
As long as he’s been in the public eye, Mike Evans has worn the same number. Since 2012, when he was a freshman at Texas A&M, up until last season, Evans has donned the number 13. That’s not going to work with his current team. Barring Brock Purdy giving up his number, Evans is in the market
for a new number.
According to NFL Jersey Numbers, an account on Twitter that tracks updated jersey numbers for each team, Evans will rock No. 5 next season:
That number was Trey Lance’s, but most recently it belonged to Demarcus Robinson last season. Robinson is still on the roster, although his deal voids after the 2026 season. The details in Evans’ contract are a bit murky, as he could be around anywhere between one and three seasons.
What do you think about Evans’ new number?
