Legendary Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci has given his verdict on Alessandro Bastoni and says the Inter defender would be a good match for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are reportedly eager to bring in the defender in the summer transfer window to boost their backline, and Bonucci has given his verdict on the potential transfer.
“His approach to football and his characteristics are a perfect fit for Barcelona’s style. He’s a very technical defender with great vision,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He might have some problems with the spaces Barça leaves, but a lot of it depends on individual and personal growth, which helps you read all situations and anticipate them so you don’t get into trouble.
“Bastoni is still young, at 27, so he has another 6-7 years to play at a high level, and I hope that for the national team he can rediscover the serenity and confidence that distinguished him in his victorious years with Italy and Inter.”
Inter chief Piero Ausilio has also spoken about Bastoni and Barcelona today, telling the Catalan giants: “If anyone is interested in Bastoni, they know the phone numbers, so they should do that, they shouldn’t just talk.”
