Hey, there’s a big game this weekend, you might’ve heard about it.
Later today, the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team will take on Duke in round one of their annual rivalry series against the Blue Devils. Every year right around this time, the two teams meet in the first of their two scheduled matchups, and this year it’s UNC with hosting duties for the first. ESPN’s College Gameday will be in town and all the pomp and circumstance that surrounds these meeting will be on display.
For this
game, Duke comes in as favorite, and it’s tough to argue that notion. Led by freshman Cameron Boozer, they come in with a 21-1 record, having won 10 in a row. However, UNC have their own star freshman in Caleb Wilson, and — bar a bad last 10ish minutes against Syracuse — have been playing pretty well themselves of late. Every year around these game, there will be all sorts of stats about how close these clashes have been over recent decades. There’s a good chance this is another game that will come down to the final minute as well.
