Serie A leaders AC Milan host rock-bottom Pisa at the San Siro this weekend in a bid to extend their points tally at the summit.
Milan come to this match on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run across
all competitions. With 16 points on the board, the Rossoneri surpassed Napoli and Inter in the league standings following a thrilling comeback victory over Fiorentina last weekend to seal top spot.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men conceded ten minutes after the break, but Rafael Leao inspired a spirited turnaround with two goals under his belt to keep the three points at home. The Italian manager does not have to deal with European fixtures midweek, and therefore, he will have a well-rested team for their upcoming match.
Despite missing Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot, Pervis Estupinan, Ardon Jashari, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Milan are expected to record maximum points against Pisa, as they have already proved themselves by prevailing over Bologna, Napoli and Fiorentina with injuries.
Meanwhile, Pisa have found it tough to impress in the Serie A after gaining promotion last season. The Alberto Gilardino side has yet to register their first victory this campaign, but they did manage to keep clean sheets against Atalanta, the Viola and Verona.
The Tuscans have met Milan 12 times in top division clashes throughout their history, losing ten times and drawing twice. A draw this weekend would mean the world to them, as only a stellar display could help them salvage anything from the match.
