Barcelona captain Raphinha has been named La Liga’s Player of the Month for September after maintaining his brilliant start to the season.
The Brazilian scooped the award for August and has won it again after a month where he scored against Valencia, bagged two assists versus Levante and took home the match ball after wins over Racing and Sevilla.
It’s more deserved recognition for Raphinha following his impressive showings for Hansi Flick’s side after a summer where he’s switched roles and is now playing as a No. 9.
The Brazil international beat off competition from Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, Atletico’s Jonathan David, Sergio Camello of Rayo and Elche’s Fer Nino to win September’s award.
Raphinha has since gone on to pick up an injury and may now be given a breather in Barcelona’s next game against Getafe, allowing the rest of the competition a headstart in the race to win next month’s La Liga Player of the Month Prize.
