Mystery man Aarón Anselmino is set to join Borussia Dortmund on loan, in a deal that’s as much about him as it is about Carney Chukwuemeka, who’s also set to move there as well. Officially, the two deals are separate, but they are undoubtedly connected on some level. Chukwuemeka’s is expected to be a permanent transfer; Anselmino’s only going for loan. There’s is not even a buy-option in the arrangement, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Anselmino has been with Chelsea since January, when he completed
his prearranged transfer from Boca Juniors six months earlier than initially agreed. Despite that, we’ve not seen much of the 20-year-old center back, who finally did make his debut at the Club World Cup.
Head coach Enzo Maresca recently said a few nice words about Anselmino recently, but there is no real role for him in the team.
“Aaron is training with us. He is a fantastic boy. Good player, but he needs to go and play games. He is another player waiting for a solution.”
