Another round, another roster update.
The Atlanta Braves are set to do baseball battle with the Los Angeles Angels in just a few short hours and as such, the team has taken this chance to update the roster a bit. There are three changes, which we’ll get into below:
Lane Thomas has been healthy and Walt Weiss expressed confidence that Thomas would be involved for this series, and sure enough, he’s on the roster. His right-handed bat should come
in handy against the litany of left-handers that the Dodgers will be sure to throw out there over the next few games.
Meanwhile, the pitching situation (particularly when it came to starters and bulk guys) had to be addressed and it has been, as both JR Ritchie and AJ Smith-Shawver have been added to the roster. It’s safe to assume that one (or possibly both) of those guys will be making starts at some point during this series or they’ll be covering as many innings and outs as they can.
Rowdy Tellez gets to stick around for another round, while Dominic Smith, Luke Williams and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. have all been dropped for the NLDS.
