Football:
Older players have not lived up to expectations on the defensive line so far but if FSU can retain the Desir twins and develop Kevin Wynn in the offseason; they’ll have a nice core to build around for
the future.
It does not look the same for the linebacker group. The group disappointed in ‘25 and unless FSU’s talented true freshman acclimate quickly; the ceiling of this group looks very limited.
With the portal opening next week; it’s imperative that FSU makes it general manager hire fairly soon. Until FSU’s high school recruiting improves; prioritizing proven, multi-year players in the portal with incentive laced deals might be the best approach for FSU this offseason.
FSU is expected to spend for a quarterback in the portal but Mike Norvell is excited about Kevin Sperry’s football character:
David Hale’s top 25 College Football moments of the 21st century featured a funny but surprising entry for FSU on the list but when you consider the ground rules for the list it actually makes sense.
Let’s lay out a few ground rules.
To make the list, the college football moment cannot have happened during the course of game action (no Bush Push or Kick Six), but it can be something that happened on the field of play (like, say, throwing someone’s shoe).
The list can include some bad moments, but not something that involves an actual law being broken (so no crab legs).
Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, who do you have winning the quarterfinals?
Recruiting:
Noles247 is reporting that FSU and UCF TE Kylan Fox will have mutual interest in each other when the portal opens; with the reported exits of Randy Pittman and Landen Thomas to the portal tight end will likely see two new bodies from the portal.
Quarterback, tight end, running back, and offensive line will be priorities for Florida State when the portal opens next Friday.
All Sports:
FSU Hoops opens conference play on the 30th against North Carolina.
