Beneil Dariush was knocked out by Quillan Salkilld in the UFC Perth co-main event last weekend in Australia. Dariush, 36, has dropped four of his last five and all four losses have come by way of knockout. That’s probably why fans on social media are calling for the longtime lightweight to retire and pursue UFC BJJ.
Dariush (23-8-1) has yet to comment on his fighting future.
“I’m good friends,” Dariush wrote on Instagram. “I have no injuries and I appreciate everyone checking on me. I’ll be taking
some time off and heading over to Sydney tomorrow for the week. God bless.”
Dariush is expected to lose his lightweight ranking in defeat.
“I don’t want the bonuses, they want me,” the once-beaten Salkilld (12-1) wrote on Instagram after bagging another post-fight bonus at UFC Perth. “Another one down. Hello Top 15.”
The official UFC rankings are expected to be updated on Tuesday morning.
