The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Sunday night’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Chiefs will be without tackles Josh Simmons and Diego Pounds, safety Chamarri Conner, defensive end Jack Pyburn, defensive tackle Bryson Eason and tight end Jared Wiley. Rookie Garrett Nussmeier has been named the emergency quarterback, allowing him to enter play if both starter Patrick Mahomes and backup Justin Fields leave the game.
Simmons (back) and Conner (knee) had already been ruled out on Friday’s final injury report with their ailments. Defensive tackle Chris Jones (calf) and rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane (shoulder) had been listed as questionable, but both players are available for Sunday night.
On Saturday, Kansas City elevated practice squad linebacker Cole Christiansen and defensive tackle Marcus Harris to the active roster. As elevated players, they will automatically be returned to the team’s practice squad after the game. Both are active for the contest.
The Colts have also released their list of inactives.
Linebacker Austin Ajiake, wide receiver Ashton Dulin, running back DJ Giddens, defensive end George Gumbs Jr., and guard Dalton Tucker will not play. Riley Leonard is the designated third quarterback for the Colts.
Dulin (ankle) was ruled out on the final injury report. The former Kansas State star Giddens (knee) will not suit up after drawing a questionable tag.
The Colts have elevated wide receiver Anthony Gould for the matchup. He will dress for the game.
