Hello and welcome back to the Friday Feedbag. First off, go read John’s latest and come back after you run through at least three walls. Wow, that was fast. Dust that drywall off your shoulder and take a load off for I am here to further hype you up about the next nine Seattle Mariners games.
You all know the talking points by now.
- The Mariners haven’t been (tied) in first place this late in the season since 2001
- Cal Raleigh is making history
- The pitching rotation is rolling
- Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suárez are probably the two best trade deadline acquisitions in team history
- A series win or sweep in Houston most likely earns the Mariners the division provided they don’t completely fall on their faces versus the Rockies and Dodgers next week
- Again, the Mariners have not won the division in 24 seasons
- A playoff drought of two seasons is completely reasonable compared to 21 seasons

There are watch parties this weekend around town! Or just go to your favorite bar or cafe that has a TV and make them watch baseball. If you have the time and flexibility,
I can’t recommend highly enough that you go seek out community and watch a game or two surrounded by like-minded Mariners fans. You know as well as I do that these local sports zeitgeist moments do not happen every year. If you can, make the most of it, however that feels right to you. Go to Growler Guys on Lake City Way and sit in the Dugout. If you go on Saturday, you can even watch the uhhhh “Apple Cup” at the same time as the Mariners game. Maximum SPORTS!
So, what are your plans this weekend?
