Real Madrid 2-0 Real Oviedo
(Gonzalo & Bellingham). Almost done… This is my immediate reaction. Coming up: Player ratings, interviews and a podcast with myself and Mehedi.Three games to go, with Real Oviedo at home the easiest of the bunch. Gonzalo García continued to start, joined by Brahim Díaz, Franco Mastantuono and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Six Castilla players made the bench. Vinícius Júnior captained the team.
The most memorable
moments from the first-half came from the crowd. Controversial banners quickly snatched away, and individuals picking an argument with the president made for fascinating viewing. The game however, did not. A standby mode performance was lifted just before the break when Gonzalo García found the bottom corner after Real Madrid won the ball high up the pitch. 1-0 at half-time.
The second half produced some slightly better moments. Real Madrid created a number of soft chances, before Jude Bellingham came on and forced his way into the box before making it 2-0. No injury time was added to either half, summing up another forgettable occasion. 2-0 at full-time.
