Former Barcelona striker Gary Lineker is expecting plenty of goals on Sunday when the Catalan giants face off against Real Madrid in El Clasico.
The famous fixture rarely fails to disappoint on the goals
front and Lineker is expecting more of the same at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“My prediction is: goals, as I can’t see Barcelona changing how they play,” Lineker told The Athletic.
“Barca play a really high-risk, high-reward game, with their high line. They don’t even tend to drop when they don’t have pressure on the ball.
“They back themselves to score more than the opposition. And Real Madrid have that danger on the counter-attack with the pace of Vinicius and Mbappe. So I can’t envisage it being a low-scoring affair.
“If Lamine Yamal is fit, Barcelona have a real chance. I’ll go: 4-3 to Barca.”
Barcelona are currently on an impressive goalscoring streak and have found the back of the net in each of their last 48 consecutive matches in all competitions.
