Germany are not having an easy time at the World Cup due to the extremely high temperatures of their base camp.
Julian Nagelsmann and his team have set up shop in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. According to Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the heat index there hit a staggering 41 degrees Celsius, which translates to 105 Fahrenheit.
In order to combat the sweltering heat, kit suppliers Adidas have now provided the players with special cooling vests, while special fans were set up to spray cooled water
vapor on the players. Paramedics were also naturally on standby in case of an emergency.
Nagelsmann, meanwhile, is trying to address the discipline of the players. He reportedly encouraged the team to stay out of the air-conditioned rooms as much as possible to acclimatize themselves with the temperatures of the host nation. However, the opening match against Curaçao is taking place in Houston, which will be indoors and in air conditioning.
Should Germany advance to the knockout stages, they will also most likely continue the tournament in America, with the only other potential options being Vancouver and Mexico City. Germany would need to advance as a third placed team to play at either. The other options are Santa Clara, Kansas City, Atlanta, Arlington, Seattle, and Foxborough.
