FSU falls to No. 25 in AP Top 25, unranked in Coaches Poll

Despite falling out of the rankings in the Coaches Poll, FSU managed to remain ranked in this week’s edition of the AP Top 25.

Florida State, after falling behind 28-3 vs. Miami on Saturday, managed to reel off a 19-point fourth quarter to make the final score respectable, enough for voters in the AP Poll this week to keep them at No. 25.

FSU was second in the “receiving votes” category in the Coaches Poll, garnering 93 votes (No. 25 Memphis received 162, Utah has 134).

The Hurricanes are ranked No.

3 in the Coaches and No. 2 in the AP Top 25 while FSU’s other loss, Virginia, sits at No. 24 and No. 19, respectively.

Florida State will look to bounce back this week vs. the Pitt Panthers (3-2, 1-1 ACC) in a 12 p.m. ET matchup at home. Pitt is coming off a 48-7 victory over Boston College where true freshman Mason Heintschel threw for 359 yards and four touchdowns in his first start.
