When you think about it, the first decade of the century was absolutely insane for Duke Basketball. How in the world could you pick the Top Ten plays? You can barely even pick the Top Ten players.
However, some brave soul went there and made this list, and you know, it was pretty well done.
There are some spine-tingling moments here and we have no real criticisms of the picks. However, in the beginning of Kyrie Irving’s year in Duke Blue when the Blue Devils faced Michigan State in Cameron, he was
triple-teamed by the Spartans and crushed them. That was a sign of things to come.
Otherwise, there are some real classics here. There is the Miracle Minute of course, and Shane Battier’s fingernail tip-in against Arizona. How about Chris Duhon’s layup in Chapel Hill to give Duke a two-point edge with mere seconds to go?
Or if none of those are your cups of tea, perhaps Battier’s block against Jason Gardner.
No matter how you cut it, this was all amazing stuff. We are the luckiest fans in the world.
