Here are your player ratings from Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Brentford:
Starters
Senne Lammens – 8
There were lots of good individual displays today, and it started with the young keeper. Made some of his best saves all season in the game.
Diogo Dalot – 5
Played a few different defensive roles today, but got completely done by Thiago on one occasion. Didn’t offer a lot going forward.
Harry Maguire – 7
Unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet, but registered an assist. Led the backline well.
Ayden
Heaven – 7
Another promising display. Didn’t look fazed by the in-form Thiago.
Luke Shaw – 6
Not as adventurous as he used to be, but did his job defensively.
Casemiro – 8
Another headed goal. The combinations don’t quite work, but that has little to do with individual qualities, and he showed his today.
Kobbie Mainoo – 8
One of his best games so far for the club. Showed his quality on the ball with one brilliant run early in the game, and timed his tackles well.
Bruno Fernandes – 8
Played his part in both goals. Another assist for the captain; just two more to go.
Amad Diallo – 6
Was a threat but didn’t take his chances. Was subbed off for tactical reasons.
Bryan Mbeumo – 5
Got into better positions today than he has in recent weeks, but didn’t capitalise on the good positions he picked up.
Benjamin Sesko – 7
Took his goal brilliantly. Has had a good year so far.
Subs
Noussair Mazraoui – 6
Solid for the most part. The defensive shape was a bit better in the second half, which helped United get over the line.
Leny Yoro – N/A
Mason Mount – N/A
Joshua Zirkzee – N/A
Manager
Michael Carrick – 7
The defensive organisation was lacking today in a pretty open game, but another three points to further his case for the permanent role.
