After suffering two major setbacks in offensive line recruiting in the NCAA transfer portal when interior lineman Jake Guarnera and tackle Andrew Sprague opted to return to the Michigan Wolverines earlier
this week after weekend visits to the Texas Longhorns, position coach Kyle Flood is hosting Yale Bulldogs transfer tackle Mikey Bennett on Friday.
The 6’5, 310-pounder has one season of eligibility remaining.
A private school product from Atlanta, Bennett redshirted in 2022 at Yale before starting the final six games of the 2023 season at right tackle, grading out well as a pass blocker by Pro Football Focus in allowing one sack, one quarterback hit, and four quarterback hurries.
Bennett remained in that starting role on the right tackle for all 10 games in 2024, becoming a first-team All-Ivy selection as an improved run blocker who remained steady in pass protection, once again allowing one sack. In 2025, Bennett started all 12 games and was first-team All-Ivy once again, as well as AP FCS All-America Honorable Mention, taking another step forward in the running game while allowing two sacks, two quarterback hits, and five quarterback hurries.
At Texas, Bennett would profile as a potential swing candidate between the tackle and guard positions.
Bennett also visited Florida State earlier this week.
