Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/39-23)
SYRACUSE 10, BUFFALO 0 (BOX)
Syracuse no longer has Blade Tidwell, Nolan McLean, Jonah Tong, or Brandon Sproat, but who needs those guys, right? Brandon Waddell tossed six scoreless and he was picked up by Carlos Guzman and Justin Garza in the later innings to complete the shutout of the Herd. Syracuse beat up the rehabbing Alek Manoah for seven runs- two earned- over 5.2 innings and plated three more against the Buffalo bullpen, with the rehabbing Jose Siri, Ryan Clifford and Jose Azocar all socking
homers.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/40-22)
AKRON 6, BINGHAMTON 2 (BOX)
Binghamton is looking for their historic 86th win on the season and their magic number for clinching the Eastern League Northeast second half remains at one with their loss to Akron last night. R.J. Gordon threw a clunker, giving up more earned runs in this game (5) than he did in his last four starts combined (4). Brian Metoyer and Daniel Juarez were able to keep the Rubberducks scoreless over the final few innings of the ballgame, but the offense wasn’t able to get much done. Of note, A.J. Ewing had his 14-game hitting streak end. Come to think of it, the “J” in A.J. and R.J. is both “Joseph”; it just a bad night all around for guys playing baseball for Binghamton who have the middle name Joseph.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/25-39)
CANCELLED (INCLEMENT WEATHER)
Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/43-22)
ST. LUCIE 14, FORT MYERS 3 (BOX)
Early on, the Mets actually found themselves down in this one, with the Mighty Muscles negating the RBI double Trey Snyder hit in the top of the first with a three spot in the bottom of the inning. Those three runs would end up the only ones Fort Myers would score; they had plenty of opportunities, with 8 more runners on base after the first, but St. Lucie had an excellent night managing the basepaths and eliminating runners. The Mets came surging back in the third, taking a 5-3 lead, and then continued piling on, scoring three more in the fourth, five more in the fifth, and one more in the eighth for good measure. As has been the case lately, St. Lucie was extremely frisky on the basepaths, stealing 13 bases in a perfect 13 attempts; the amount of bases St. Lucie has been stealing over the last few weeks is astounding, but their success rate is even more crazy when you think about it.
