Tyler Glasnow was supposed to start against the Orioles this Friday, but the tall, hard-throwing right-hander was scratched, and in’s place, the Dodgers will send another tall, hard-throwing right-hander to the mound in Shohei Ohtani. Out of all the things on anyone’s bingo card this year, Ohtani filling in for an unexpected start surely wasn’t in any of them.
Whenever there is an injury update, setback, or news regarding Glasnow, it’s significantly more concerning than with virtually any other player,
given his injury history. That being said, this is about as optimistic an outlook as anyone could’ve asked for under the circumstances.
The plan, as reported by Kirsten Watson and several other media members who heard from Dave Roberts ahead of Friday’s game against the Orioles, is that Glasnow will take the ball at some point early next week.
After this series against the Orioles, the Dodgers come right back to Los Angeles for a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies starting Monday night.
