We’re keeping our foot down on the gas, Syracuse Orange fans.
The Go Bowling Military Bowl O’Meter is back in great shape after Fran Brown’s squad went full throttle down in Death Valley, dominating Clemson
34-21 last Saturday.
The program-changing win came at quite the cost though, literally and figuratively. Quarterback Steve Angeli suffered a torn achilles in the third quarter and will be out the remainder of the season. SU also received a $25,000 “institutional fine” for faking injuries midway through the fourth quarter.
Anyways, here’s how the huge dub over the Tigers reflects on this week’s meter:

Now sitting at 3-1, a trip to the Military Bowl is certainly an option. We’ll just have to see if Rickie Collins can take us there, starting with a tough matchup in the Dome against 2-2 Duke on Saturday afternoon.
Check out where the “experts” project the Orange in Bowl Season after Week 4.
ESPN – Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura
Schlabach – TaxSlayer Gator Bowl vs No. 17 Alabama Crimson Tide
Now we’re talking. After not being projected in a bowl game all year, ESPN catapults the Orange firmly into postseason play. While not the covetted Military Bowl, any game against Alabama would have huge positive implications for the SU program.
Bonagura – Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs No. 18 Vanderbilt Commodores
Another great battle against an SEC opponent, Vandy has been a pleasant surprise so far sitting at 4-0. They just dropped 70 on Georgia State last week, so I’m all in for two high-powered offenses.
Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs. Missouri Tigers
Keeping the same stance as last week with a potential Mayo Dump. However, this prediction seems a lot more realistic now than it did just a week ago.
No bowl
CBS either didn’t watch the game last week or has some sort of vendetta against Otto. You be the judge.
No bowl
Guess SI isn’t buying what Fran Brown is putting down. A win over Duke should definitely change their minds.
