When news broke that Hayden Panettiere passed away Sunday, fans expressed grief and shock about the actress dying less than a week before her 37th birthday.
Among the many celebrities who posted on social media about the star’s unfortunate passing was Jacob Fatu, although the cryptic message from the member of WWE’s Bloodline left many people confused.
“THE TRUTH WILL COME TO THE LIGHT!!” Fatu wrote Monday on X (Twitter) in response to a TMZ post about Panettiere’s death.
While the message left many people thinking the Samoan wrestler was backing an unspecified conspiracy theory, a couple of X users said he was quoting from the Kingdom Hearts video game. Given Panettiere voiced two characters from the Kingdom Hearts series, these X users interpreted his post as a tribute to the late actress.
The “truth will come to the light” line also appears in the Bible. Since Fatu has publicly spoken about his devotion to Christianity, another theory is that he was relaying a faith-based message about Hayden’s death.
Whatever Fatu’s intentions were, many people on social media didn’t seem to pick up on his meaning, and his post was met with a good deal of criticism.
“This ‘truth light’ crap is so worn out, random deaths aren’t conspiracies,” an X user wrote in Jacob’s comments. “You people are obsessed with drama, get over it.”
“Y’all just want everything to be an Epstein related conspiracy. You’re so blood thirsty for new information about the Epstein stuff. You’ll just willfully ignore the pain and struggles this woman endured,” X user ‘DobbyRocky’ wrote on X. “Because unless it’s a Epstein/Illuminati conspiracy. It’s boring for you.”
“jacob, let wwe social team run ur accounts, u gonna have some cocktails and say something stupid, and wind up in aew,” another person on X suggested.
Some of the messages about Fatu were more insulting, such as one that read: “Celebrities are just people, so can be just as stupid as non-celebrities. Case in point.“
Other people on X pushed unsubstantiated conspiracy theories or speculated on the cause of Panettiere’s death. At least a couple of people voiced their opinion that Jacob should have remained silent on the topic.
“Have you considered it’s none of your business?” read one simple response to Fatu.
