Earlier in the week, fans were tasked with answering the question as to what position on the Seattle Seahawks depth chart will Jalen Milroe be placed. Obviously, it was not the starting role. That one is currently solidly in the hands of Sam Darnold, which is so nice to say. No

starting quarterback controversy there.

However, the question remains is whether Milroe will be the backup to Darnold, the backup to Drew Lock, or maybe not on the 53 man roster at all? The fans have answered, and here are the results!

With overwhelming confidence, fans believe that Milroe will remain on the roster as QB3, with 74% of the vote. This feels right for the 2026 NFL season. While he may not be active most game days, he can be the emergency quarterback should anything happen to both Darnold and Lock on game day.

I do find it fascinating how close the vote was for Milroe overtaking Lock as the backup quarterback (14%) or being off the team entirely (12%). Very stark opinions on opposite sides, but very close in the polling. Milroe does have a chance to become the backup through training camp performance and preseason play. Reports out of training camp have been positive so far for Milroe, so the next step for him will be to continue that positivity in the preseason games.

As for the 12% who think Milroe will be off the team, that is unlikely for the 2026 season. I understand the logic of Darnold and Lock being similar style quarterbacks, and Milroe being a bit of an outlier and either having him on the practice squad or trading him to another team to gather more draft picks, and/or potentially another player, to free up a spot on the 53. It just does not seem like a likely option at this time for the team.
