Indiana men’s basketball (12-5, 3-3 Big Ten) is set to take on Iowa (12-5, 2-4 Big Ten) in a home matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Hoosiers’ last outing was an 81-60 loss to Michigan State on the road,
the latest in a growing list of games with second half issues. Indiana’s issues have really started to show in conference play with scoring issues from everyone but Lamar Wilkerson. There’s plenty of time to turn the season around, but the vibes aren’t great.
The Hawkeyes are coming off of a narrow 79-72 road loss to Purdue that featured a strong comeback effort from the Boilermakers in the second half. They’re going to look to slow the Hoosiers’ pace and get good looks late in the shot clock after plenty of passing
Both teams are coaches by former Drake coaches, with Iowa’s Ben McCollum succeeding Indiana’s Darian DeVries in that job. McCollum was frequently listed as a candidate for the Indiana job, so the two will no doubt be compared for the duration of their tenures with their current programs.
