Bundesliga games just keep coming. There has only been one day without a Bundesliga game over the last week, and the last round of fixtures only finished last night. But we go again! It even looks like
the entire schedule will go ahead without snow storms rudely interrupting the weekend plans.
The combination of a tight turnaround and multiple matches being postponed was a real spanner in the works for Predicting Ball, but everything is fixed now and the model updated earlier this evening, so if you want a peek into the future, give it a look. According to the model, tonight’s game is going to be one of the closest of the weekend, with Werder Bremen projected to put up 1.25 xG (~35% win probability) versus Frankfurt’s 1.33 (~40% win probability). Otherwise, we’ve got a lot of mismatches, but tomorrow evening will be an interesting test for Bayern Munich as they head to East Germany to face RB Leipzig. Bayern are obviously still favoured, but Leipzig are looking pretty good and could potentially pull the upset.
Here is this weekend’s Bundesliga schedule:
Friday:
- Werder Bremen vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Saturday:
- Borussia Dortmund vs St. Pauli
- FC Köln vs Mainz
- Hamburger SV vs Borussia Mönchengladbach
- Hoffenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen
- Wolfsburg vs Heidenheim
- RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich
Sunday:
- VfB Stuttgart vs Union Berlin
- Augsburg vs Freiburg
The same rules apply as the BVB match threads, though I’m hoping tempers are less likely to flare in these threads. But as a reminder, here are the match thread rules:
- Exercise common sense. We allow profanity, adult humor, and other forms of crudeness within reason, but of course there are lines. Hateful language will not be tolerated. Exceptionally violent language (especially directed at specific people) will not be tolerated. Before you type, ask yourself, “Would I have a reasonable expectation of being thrown out of a bar in an average city if I said something like this?”
- Be respectful. There will definitely be times when everyone is upset and disagreements get heated, and that’s fine, but remember that we’re all rooting for the same team. Keep arguments based on substance and not personal insults.
- No sharing illegal streams. NONE. Zero tolerance.
- No spam. I have no interest in whatever crypto scheme you’re shilling. You will be banned.
Enjoy the game! Heja BVB!
