The Texas Rangers scored two runs but the Houston Astros scored eleven runs.
I didn’t catch this one because Major League Baseball loves nothing more than gatekeeping its product but I hear the Rangers lost the game tonight. Seems like it didn’t go well at all.
That’s pretty unfortunate for a few reasons. First of all, the Rangers losing the game tonight means they’ve lost three games in a row and are now back at .500. Because they lost tonight, they are now no longer in first place in the American
League West by a half game.
Also, because they lost tonight to the Astros, they have lost the season series to Houston which means they have lost the tiebreaker to the new AL West leaders and, more importantly, they’ve once again lost the Silver Boot.
Maybe next year.
Player of the Game: Joc Pederson homered to get the Rangers on the board. Unfortunately it was 6-0 at that point and it only got much worse from there.
Up Next: The Rangers will try to return to above .500 baseball and reclaim the top spot in the division tomorrow. Texas will turn to RHP Jacob deGrom opposite RHP Ronel Blanco for Houston.
