It’s a battle of 5-3 teams at Gillette Stadium in Week 9. Trying to win a second straight game and take some momentum into their trip to Germany next week, the New England Patriots will play hosts to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
The Packers are a good football team and one of the most challenging opponents Mike Vrabel’s team will have faced so far this season. That said, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Patriots are still regarded as three-point favorites at home. Will they live up to that
status? Or will the Packers manage to steal a victory? Let’s find out fwhat Pats Pulpit’s staff and community think.
Patriots vs. Packers score predictions
Bernd Buchmasser: It’s a weekend of celebration in Foxborough. After Rob Gronkowski was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on Saturday, Sunday will see the franchise honor its 2016 Super Bowl team. And the good feelings should extend into the game as well. Despite their personnel questions — something Green Bay is also dealing with — the Patriots do match up well with the visitors on both sides of the ball. If they can take care of the football on offense and take away the big passing play on defense, they should be fine. | Patriots 27, Packers 17

Matt St. Jean: I like the way New England’s defense matches up with Green Bay’s offense in this one, and getting Mack Hollins back should be a lift for the offense. In the biggest game of the year at Gillette so far this year, give me the home team with Brady on the mic. | Patriots 23, Packers 17
Dylan Klayman: This should be a very even game, and come right down to the end of the fourth quarter. Both teams are 5-3, both are coming off a win, and both have had great quarterback play for the majority of the season. But with Mack Hollins returning, which might give the Patriots offense a needed boost, and coming back home along with Tom Brady in the booth, the Patriots will edge out a win. | Patriots 28, Packers 25
Pat Lane: This should be a very entertaining game, as both of these teams are very good, but have deficiencies at certain spots. Ultimately, the Patriots will be able to score a bit more than the Packers. This is, of course, assuming that Marcus Jones is playing. The combination of pass rush, coverage ability, and inability of the Packers offensive line to block should be the recipe for success that the Patriots need. | Patriots 27, Packers 20
