The Wisconsin Badgers have been working hard in the 2027 class, with a ton of official visits set up for the following weeks to build on their 13-commit class so far.
But, in addition to that, they’re starting to work in the 2028 class, with their annual summer barbecue coming up next month. During that event, the Badgers bring in several of their early top targets in the junior class for an unofficial visit, as they look to continue building relationships heading into the recruits’ senior years.
One reported visitor? 2028 four-star running back Ian Thomas, per 247Sports’s Nick Osen, who is ranked the No. 1 running back in the class.
Thomas, who stands 6’0, 185 pounds, hails from Texas, and has quite the offer list so far. He holds 18 offers, including ones from LSU, Texas Tech, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, and others.
Wisconsin hit big in the 2027 class at running back, landing four-star in-state recruit Kingston Allen, who is the top-rated player in the state of Wisconsin.
Now, they’re getting in early on one of the best players in the 2028 class. Getting that visit itself is a strong feat for running backs coach Jayden Everett, who has done some good work in his first few months on the job in Madison.
