Good morning, Broncos Country!
Now that the Denver Broncos 2026 regular season schedule has been released, we can all overreact.
From the strength of schedule and only five prime time games (with one more potentially flexed) to the short weeks and the bye week.
For this, let’s look at the revenge games. Yes, each season is different, and no team will be the same as last season. Still, at least from a fan’s perspective, this is fun, and, of course, subjective.
For those who haven’t seen it, here’s the full Broncos schedule release.
Denver’s social media team nailed the video release. There were some chuckles involved.
Let’s get into the revenge games for the Broncos.
Week 16 vs Buffalo Bills
This game will always be remembered for the magical win and the crushing loss that followed about an hour later. One of the best wins in franchise history, followed by the gut-punching news that Bo Nix broke his ankle.
Aside from Broncos Country, nobody thought Nix and the Broncos would beat Josh Allen and Buffalo. But they did. And now Allen has the chance for a little revenge on Christmas. Buffalo will want to avenge that playoff loss, especially late in the season.
Nix and Denver will want to show that the playoff victory wasn’t a fluke.
What makes this matchup even more intriguing is the fact that it comes so late in the season. Both teams will likely be playing for the division title and playoff seeding.
Week 17 @ New England Patriots
What could have been. Had Nix been active, who knows how the AFC Championship Game would have unfolded? I think the Broncos would have won to advance to the Super Bowl, but that’s just me.
Now Denver gets its shot at revenge, just like Allen the week prior.
Foxborough is a difficult place to play, especially in December. And just like the game against the Bills, this one at New England will feature teams in the division hunt and looking to secure playoff seeding.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this game airs on Sunday Night Football (it’s currently TBD). That would make it six prime-time games for the Broncos.
Week 2 vs Jacksonville Jaguars
The Broncos will actually look for revenge, and they get their chance early.
The 34-20 thumping by Trevor Lawrence and the Jags was not expected. Jacksonville pretty much did everything it wanted offensively, while the Broncos couldn’t do anything on offense.
Denver will want to send a message, not just to Jacksonville but to the rest of the league. What you saw in that game was an anomaly, and it won’t happen again.
Week 1 and Week 8, Kansas City Chiefs
I know. I know. The Broncos swept Kansas City last season, so where’s the revenge? This is more about wanting to keep their place as division champs.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will want to get back on top of the AFC West, so they’ll have the desire for revenge. Denver has a great shot, especially to start the season, to prove we’re still the champs and we’re not going anywhere.
Week 13 vs Miami Dolphins
The last time these two teams played, Denver was historically flogged 70-20. Don’t think Sean Payton has forgotten. Mike McDaniel is now with the Los Angeles Chargers, Jaylen Waddle is now in Denver, and a lot of other pieces for Miami are gone. But the Broncos head coach doesn’t forget. Nor do the players and coaches who played in that game.
Denver will want revenge.
As I stated at the top, this is subjective, so I’m sure there will be disagreement. What games did I miss? What ones did I get right? Sound off.
