Cleveland, Ohio sits right on the banks of Lake Erie — one of the five Great Lakes of North America. Due to its proximity to the water, games at Huntington Bank Field can get a little wonky weather-wise.
Sunday’s Miami Dolphins vs. Cleveland Browns match-up could end up being one such game.
Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 in Miami provided an update regarding the type of weather the Dolphins should expect for their game in Cleveland this Sunday — and it doesn’t look pretty.
With wind gusts that could reach 50-60 miles per hour, plus a deluge of rain predicted, sloppy conditions could be on tap for the game this Sunday, which could mean less passing and more running. Such a game could be concerning for the Dolphins, as their run defense has been one of the poorest performing units in all of the National Football League this season.
The Dolphins allow 168.5 rushing yards per game — the worst mark in the NFL in 2025. However, when Miami attacks with their ground game, they muster just 91.3 yards per contest — just the 27th best average in the league. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the Browns rush defense is the third ranked unit across all 32 teams in the NFL this season according to TeamRankings.com — allowing just 79.7 yards per game.
We will see if the forecast changes between now and Sunday, but if conditions end up as bad as some are predicting, get ready for some ugly football to be played in Cleveland this weekend.
