Per Steve Kerr, Jimmy Butler will not be available for the Golden State Warriors’ third preseason clash on Sunday, October 12 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
While it was previously reported that Butler had rolled his ankle in practice, it hasn’t stopped him from participating in the Warriors’ first two preseason games. This absence isn’t also due to his ankle, nor any other kind of ailment. Per Kerr, it is an excused absence for a “reason that is positive.”
On the Lakers’ side of things, LeBron James will not be available Sunday due to sciatica on his right side that will sideline him for 3-4 weeks. It is yet to be determined if Luka Dončić will be available this Sunday, although he hasn’t played in a single preseason game for the Lakers as of this writing.
Meanwhile, no news has been reported regarding the availabilities of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Al Horford on Sunday. Stay tuned for updates on their situation.
