Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats have been working hard this fall to pick up their first commitment of the 2026 recruiting cycle. The latest player to take an official visit to Lexington is Baba Oladotun, a 5-star small forward from Silver Spring, Maryland.
Oladotun arrived on campus on Friday morning and attended the Blue-White Game later in the evening.
Oladotun is the 10th-ranked player nationally in the class of 2026, according to 247 Sports, and the third-ranked small forward. He currently
plays at James Hubert Blake in Maryland and is known for his shooting ability and his size.
At 6-10, Oladotun can really shoot the rock from behind the arc for a man his size. He’s also known for his great size and movement on the defensive end. Oladotun has excellent length and a chance to be very disruptive on the defensive end of the floor.
At just 15 years of age, the Kentucky coaching staff was showing interest in Oladotun. In the summer of 2024, Pope extended an offer to Oladotun, making that the Wildcats’ first scholarship offer of the 2027 class.
When the class of 2026 contact period opened in June, Oladotun was one of the first recruits that Pope reached out to. In August, Oladotun announced his intentions to reclassify into 2026, and the Kentucky coaching staff made sure to conduct an in-home visit with Baba and his family.
Pope and staff are still awaiting their first commitment of the 2026 class, but that could pick up quickly. The Wildcats have hosted about a dozen recruits since the start of the summer. With Oladotun on campus this weekend, this should wrap up the official visits in Lexington, for now.
