Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cardinals fans and fans across the country.
With the Arizona Cardinals making a big trade way ahead of the 2026 NFL Trade deadline, it was interesting to see that it received mostly positive reviews from the fanbase.
For fans, I think it was the sunk cost, and just getting a day two pick, that is a second round pick, is better than what the alternative of waiting and maybe getting a day three
pick if the trajectory of his work remained the same.
However, fans are not confident in the overall direction of the franchise, and really don’t mind letting us know about it.
The downturn in belief since week one is not surprising… except for this is a first year head coach.
This is why it seemed like at the time for some of us, that moving on from Jonathan Gannon and not moving on from Monti Ossenfort did not make sense.
Because now, you have this playing out. The Cardinals are the biggest underdogs of the 2026 season at 12.5-points ahead of today’s matchup with the Los Angeles Rams according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Can the Cardinals afford a one and done head coach? Can they saddle a new GM with LaFleur? These are all questions that we would not have to ask if they just won some darn football games.
