We’ve talked often about what an amazing job Duke’s social media does. The Brotherhood Podcast has been pretty great, first under Ryan Young and now under the capable leadership of Caleb Foster and Duke Blue Planet is equally good. First it does what Duke wanted it to do when it started, which was to tell Duke’s stories better than the media was typically willing to do it.
Secondly, it’s informative. For instance, in Episode 4 you can see Evan Bradds working with Cameron Boozer and you can see Boozer’s
footwork on defense (by the way, this could be recency bias, but our sense is that he runs better than his father, Carlos, and probably much better). And given what Duke likes to see out players, it’s striking to us that Boozer is talking as much as he is, as a freshman. The staff is going to love that.
There’s some five-on-five footage too.
There’s also a big visitor: Eddie Cue graduated in 1986, who then went on to a brilliant career at Apple. Eddie, if you see this, we could use some tech support on a watch. Help a Devil out!
Nik Khamenia also talks about being the son of immigrants and what he’s learned from them.
There’s a lot of good stuff here, so dive in and enjoy.
