The Buffalo Bills have begun the offseason process in earnest in the wake of their season-ending 33-30 loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday. The team fired head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons
at the helm. The Bills also announced that they have signed a dozen players to reserve/future contracts.
Most of these names should be familiar, as each player either was on the Bills’ practice squad at the end of the season or spent time with Buffalo during the 2025 NFL season. Of the 12 players signed to reserve/future deals on Monday, six of them played in at least one game with Buffalo this season. The others played with the Bills during the preseason or spent time on the team’s practice squad during the regular season.
Linebacker Keonta Jenkins, defensive tackle Zion Logue, defensive end Andre Jones Jr., and wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. each played in three games for Buffalo this season. Two of Hardman’s three games came in the regular season, and the third game came in the divisional round loss against Denver. Linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo played in one game for the Bills this season before he was released and subsequently signed to the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad. Frank Gore Jr. played in both of Buffalo’s playoff games this season.
Players who ended the season on Buffalo’s practice squad who were not signed to reserve/future deals include cornerback/return specialist Brandon Codrington, kicker Matthew Wright, quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive ends Matthew Judon and Shaq Lawson, and wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson.
Buffalo had previously signed two players to reserve/future contracts: offensive lineman Nick Broeker, who signed on January 13, and kicker Maddux Trujillo, who signed on January 6.
