Baseball America | J.J. Cooper: Cam Schlittler’s playoff dominance is inarguably one of the highlights of the Yankees’ abbreviated postseason run. But just how good was he? Well in the past decade, he is only
the 11th hurler to toss at least 14 total innings in back-to-back playoff starts. That puts him in company with future Hall of Famers Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer, transcendent talents like Stephen Strasburg and Matt Harvey, and three-time World Series champion Madison Bumgarner. To do this in an era of quick bullpen hooks in October speaks to just how comfortable he made the Yankees’ staff feel with him in the game and rolling. So just in case you didn’t realize it, Schlittler’s 2025 playoff was pretty special.
New York Post | Greg Joyce: Speaking of having a really good postseason, that Aaron Judge fellow had himself a heck of a showing. Unfortunately, along with Schlitter, it wasn’t enough to keep the Yankees from going home early. And that begs an uncomfortable question. How long do the Yankees’ have before Judge slips from his historically great peak? Next season will be Judge’s 10th full campaign in the majors and, though he’s showing absolutely no signs of falling off, Father Time is undefeated. He comes for everyone. It’s incumbent on the Yankees to find a way to that elusive World Series title, as the assignment only gets more difficult if Judge falls even a little from his prolific production.
SNY |Anthony McCarron: The Yankee Captain is one of the Yanks’ biggest offseason stories. Judge played through an elbow injury that, now that the season is over, may require further attention, including surgery. Judge’s elbow is just one of the questions the Yankees need too address this offseason. I suspect McCarron’s list looks a lot like most Yankee fans’ would. He wonders about the inability of the lineup to put the ball in play in October, what’s next for Anthony Volpe and Cody Bellinger, and what the 2026 plan is for first base. I’m mildly surprised the bullpen, the club’s Achilles heel for most of 2025, doesn’t make his list. But maybe he ran out of space.
