A win is a win, right? Fabian Aichner technically defeated a former world champion in his TNA in-ring debut, however, he won’t be celebrating the circumstances.
The man formerly known as Giovanni Vinci in WWE faced off against two-time TNA world champion Eddie Edwards. Aichner’s goal is to get at Cedric Alexander to challenge for the X-Division Championship. Edwards stands in the way as a teammate of Alexander in the System. That singles bout went down Thursday night on Impact (May 28, 2026).

to Alisha Edwards causing a ruckus on the outside to interfere, her husband gained control of the match. Alisha went too far and was ejected. With the numbers even, Aichner rallied for a butterfly superplex.
The System arrived ringside to replace Alisha. Aichner is no dummy. He took the initiative to attack them on a flying crossbody to the outside. Back in the ring, Aichner connected on a springboard DDT to Edwards. Aichner suplexed his opponent head over heels and transitioned into a chokehold. Edwards was in trouble, however, the System bum-rushed Aichner. The match was thrown out due to disqualification. The System pounded Aichner, and Alexander sent a message with the Lumbar Check.
Good news is that Aichner officially signed with TNA earlier in the day, so he will have plenty of time to seek payback. Aichner may even become the X-Division champion.
