Kentucky football is back on its home turf this weekend, where it’ll host the Florida Gators at Kroger Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET with coverage on the SEC Network and the UK Radio Sports
Network.
Head coach Mark Stoops and his Wildcats captured their first Southeastern Conference win in over a calendar year last Saturday, picking up a 10-3 win at Auburn.
Kentucky’s defense held Auburn to its lowest point total in over a decade, with the front seven putting together quite the performance.
Redshirt Freshman quarterback Cutter Boley has quietly gotten much better as the season has progressed and could be poised for another good weekend.
The Florida defense has given up at least 20 points in all but one game this season, and Boley tossed five touchdowns in his last home game.
Both teams have had their share of head coaching drama, with the Gators firing Billy Napier earlier this season and (despite winning last weekend) a chunk of Big Blue Nation ready to cut ties with Stoops.
There have been multiple jobs open up in the SEC already this year, and while Kentucky could very well join that list, a second win in a row for Stoops might just change that narrative.
Kentucky is currently a slight underdog, with the game opening at -4.5 in favor of Florida, but that number is coming down a bit to -3.5, still favoring the Gators.
ESPN’s Football Power Index is in agreement with the spread, giving the Wildcats a 41.2% chance to win.
Will Stoops get another key win toward saving his job?
