This week, former star tight end turned broadcaster Greg Olsen said he has fielded interest in coaching calls and he believes he could run a NFL team.
The interest shouldn’t be surprising. Olsen was a well-respected
player known for his football intelligence and he is now highly regarded as a top broadcaster.
Listen to Olsen call a game for a quarter and you know he’s not blowing smoke. He’s the knows the game.
So, NFL teams would be smart to pick his brain. And maybe that what Olsen’s FOX broadcasting teammate, Raiders part owner Tom Brady, will do. Brady, of course, along with Raiders’ general manager John Spytek, is leading the search to replace the fired Pete Carroll.
Yes, the Raiders are looking at established coaches like, every team, but Brady has a work connection to Olsen.
It might as well be worth a call. Maybe it’s just as a n assistant coach position, or to stash away for the future.
Either way, it can’t hurt.
