The latest Rumor Roundup brings word from Self Made Pro that Bron Breakker has been unhappy about his creative direction, enough so that he’s allegedly been pitching whoever he can to get that creative changed. When looking at WWE television, it’s easy to see why.
He is absolutely right to feel that way.
Breakker came up from NXT as one of the most highly touted prospects in a long time, a clear cut future WrestleMania main event level star in the making. He was quickly paired with Seth Rollins, Bronson
Reed, and Paul Heyman in The Vision and treated like a guy being groomed to be the next big thing. Injuries largely derailed the group and they ended up rushing into an angle where Rollins was given the boot and Breakker stepped into a de facto leadership role.
But the creative quickly lost its way, and by the time all was said and done, Breakker was losing to Rollins to end their feud. Seth is now working a main event program with Roman Reigns for the world heavyweight championship, with the two set to headline one of the two nights of SummerSlam early next month in Minneapolis. Breakker has not yet been booked for the card, despite the fact that he is currently world tag team champion.
Indeed, while Rollins moved on to more singles acclaim, Breakker was pushed back to sticking around as a member of a Vision group that is a shell of itself. Even Heyman appears to have ditched a faction that now boasts Breakker, Austin Theory, Maxxine Dupri, and Logan Paul as its roster. They may have gotten a ton of heat for Maxxine joining up and aligning with Theory as a romantic interest but it’s clear as day to anyone with eyes that Breakker does not belong with the rest of them.
I’m a fan of Paul, and I like what they’re doing with Theory and Dupri, but Bron Breakker is so far beyond their level that hanging around with them should be beneath him. Instead, he’s out here spearing Otis and Akira Tozawa on their behalf. As good as he made that look, it’s doing him no favors hanging around with The Vision.
Maybe Bronson Reed comes back soon and saves him from all this.
