So,
this is kind of a big deal, right? The Mets are coming into town this week for a four game series that should, more or less, determine the winner of the NL East. For some, that division has already been decided. For others, this will be the Phillies’ last chance to bury them, once and for all. For others still, until they win in Queens….well…we can’t help those people. It should be a great series.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- Walker Buehler’s outing with Lehigh Valley was….fine. That’s about as good as the team is looking for when he joins the rotation this week.
- If you’re going to believe this at face value, Nick Castellanos would rather win a World Series than put personal achievement first ($). I’ll choose to believe him on this one.
- Aidan Miller and Justin Crawford have hit this season like they are future franchise cornerstones.
MLB news:
- The four managers that were fired this season, all they want to do is be back in the game again. Good luck with that.
- The Cubs might have lost their closer for a while as Daniel Palencia has a shoulder strain.
- They celebrated Cal Ripken’s streak of 2,131 straight games played this weekend in Baltimore. Without his trusted trainer, that streak may have never happened ($).
