Karim Adeyemi has officially completed his transfer from Barcelona to Borussia Dortmund and revealed how he was convinced to make the move by Hansi Flick.
The pair have worked together previously with the Germany national team and Adeyemi says the coach was the main reason he decided to make the switch.
“The main reason I’m here is Flick, I’ve talked to him from the first moment and he had explained to me what he needed and what he wanted from me and I’m here for whatever I need,” he said at his unveiling.
“I don’t care where I play, I’ve played in all attacking positions. I will do it where the coach tells me and where I can help the team the most
“We had a long conversation with Flick, but I didn’t ask him where he would play. He’s very important to me, Flick. I told him that I was ready to give it my all. He asked me if I was ready. I’m here to train hard and help the team.
“When I found out, I couldn’t believe it; my last season wasn’t my best. Flick has been a pillar of support, because he said ‘I want you, but I need you to give it all.’ For me, it’s a unique opportunity. My role models and idols at Barça are Messi and Ronaldinho, although there are many others.”
Adeyemi moves in a transfer worth up to 29 million euros and has signed a contract until 2031 with the Catalans.
