One of the most interesting aspects of Randy Orton’s WrestleMania 42 story with Cody Rhodes is speculating about the identity of mystery person who has been on the phone with The Viper and encouraging him to embrace being a killer. Orton says he will see this mystery person tomorrow (Apr. 3) when WWE SmackDown comes to Orton’s hometown of St. Louis, which suggests the mystery could be wrapping up very soon.
While discussing the angle on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez claimed that WWE has already
moved on from their first choice for the mystery person’s identity, which he described as “really bizarre.”
“I will say this, because this is all I can say. I don’t know who is on the phone. But I do know that they had an idea for somebody who was on the phone. It was not Vince McMahon. It was not Chris Jericho. And the deal for this person fell through. If it had not fallen through, I think everybody would have been like, ‘What? Who?!’
So, we’ll find out who they ended up coming with on the show tomorrow, but it was a really bizarre first choice that they had. And if it comes out I’ll talk about it here on the show, but I was kind of told not to say anything.”
Can you think of any “really bizarre” choices for Randy Orton’s mystery caller? Who do you think it will be when the big reveal finally happens? Could there be more than one mystery caller, with the first reveal coming tomorrow before a bigger one happens at WrestleMania 42?
