As we are all set and ready to enjoy a Notre Dame Football bye week (also known as the cheeseburger bye week) the noise surrounding things OTHER than the college football playoff is starting to get turned
up a notch or two.
One of those things is the Heisman Trophy, and a name that is getting mentioned more and more when the Heisman is being talked about is Notre Dame running back, Jeremiyah Love. The junior back has 758 yards rushing and 9 touchdowns to go along with 197 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns. With five games left on Notre Dame’s schedule against opponents in which the Irish will likely be double digit favorites… those numbers could dramatically rise. To win it… they’re going to need to.
Love is coming off of a 228 yard rushing performance against rival Southern Cal, and it was that performance theat helped push him to be the player with the best odds to win the Heisman that doesn’t play quarterback.
Notre Dame fans overwhelmingly believe Love to be a serious Heisman contender.
